This policy explains how AURA handles personal information when you use the app. By continuing to use AURA, you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions, please contact us.

2. Data We Collect

Account information

With Firebase Authentication, we process your email, name, and sign-in identifiers when you use email or sign in with Google or Apple.

Profile (optional)

Information such as date of birth, place and time of birth, and gender is used only if you choose to provide it (for example, personalization and in-app features).

Location (optional)

Precise location (GPS) or less precise options (for example, city-level) are used only when you allow it.

Health data (optional, with permission)

Through Health Connect on Android and HealthKit on iOS, we may access data such as steps, sleep, or heart rate only with your explicit permission. This data is used only inside the app for the features we provide.

Usage data

AI-related content

Messages you send to the AI guide are sent to Google Gemini to generate a reply. We do not store those messages on AURA’s servers; they are not kept in our systems after processing.

Data stored only on your device

Dream journal entries and reflection notes stay only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored in the cloud. If you delete the app or clear app data, those records are removed from the device (and cannot be recovered unless you backed them up yourself).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use data to run your account, operate and improve the app, personalize features, protect security, fix crashes, meet legal obligations, and send notifications when you allow it. We do not use health data for diagnosis or treatment; AURA is not a medical device.

5. We Don’t Sell Your Data

We don’t sell your personal information We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not exchange it for money in ways that qualify as a “sale” under applicable privacy laws.

6. Health Data Sensitivity

Health and activity data is sensitive. We access it only with your permission, and you can withdraw that permission or disconnect integrations at any time. We use it only to power in-app experiences—not as a substitute for a doctor or emergency services.

7. Children’s Privacy

AURA is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such data, please contact us.

Dream journal and reflection notes live on your device, so removing them is usually done in the app or device settings.

9. Security

We use widely accepted technical and organizational measures to protect data. No mobile or internet service is 100% secure; reach out if you have concerns.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we may notify you in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we revise the policy.
